The granting of probate means that a will has been considered legally valid. It gives the executor the authority to deal with the estate and to distribute it according to the will. It will depend on the institutions that the executor has to deal with whether a grant of probate will be necessary to distribute the deceased’s estate. If probate is required there are certain documents which need to be filed in the Probate Registry.
If a person dies with a will but there is no executor Letters of Administration will be required. Again forms will need to be lodged at the Probate Registry to achieve this.
If you have been left out of a will or if your inheritance is much less than you expected you may be able to take legal action.
