I thought we would end up in court when we split up but Moore Law negotiated with the other side and we reached an agreement that I can live with.

WorkCover Claims PDF Print E-mail

If you have suffered a work injury you should notify your employer within 24 hours to start the process of making a workers compensation claim. You should also seek medical attention as soon as practicable. You will need to complete a Worker Report Form which must be submitted to Employers Mutual. Alternatively you can call WorkCover Early Claim on 13 18 55 and start your claim over the telephone. A written report will still need to be submitted along with a Prescribed Medical Certificate.

Once WorkCover has received the claim they should make a decision within 10 days as to whether they will allow the claim and you will be notified in writing of the decision. If the claim is accepted compensation for the injury and medical payments begin. If the claim is rejected you can dispute the decision.

It is wise to seek legal advice especially if your claim has been disallowed or if it is taking WorkCover a long time to decide whether your claim will be allowed. We can also assist you to understand how your claim will be dealt with and what your rights are.

"WorkCover said I didn't need to have a lawyer but I'm glad I went to Moore Law.  There was a lot I didn't know about WorkCover and my rights."
