Anticipatory Direction PDF Print E-mail

An Anticipatory Direction is one of the Advance Directives that can be made in South Australia.  It is a specific direction which you can have documented while you are still of sound mind and able to communicate. It is sometimes called a living will. It deals with end of life decisions about what treatment you would accept or refuse if you were terminally ill or in a persistent vegetative state.  It can be an important part of good palliative care.

To make an anticipatory direction you must be over 18 years of age and of sound mind.
